Andy, Programming Lead at SimBin Development Team had this to say: "The new GTR demo (the contents of which are correct as listed in the first post of this thread) is aimed at the large majority of people who weren't able to get their hands on the press demo. It is targeted mainly for magazine cover demo use, but we decided to make it available on the GTR website (later this week) as well for those that want it.

We do however recognize that it may not be exactly what the hardcore simulation user was wishing for (although give semi-pro mode a try, you may be pleasantly surprised). We can only say that it will not be much longer before you are able to buy the full version, and hope in the meantime that you get at least some enjoyment from this demo. Please also bear in mind that marketing and publishing considerations mean we are not always able to do exactly what we would like to!

It does include a full race weekend option, which was as you know not available in the press demo. This will enable you to try out many new features that you won't have seen before. It also of course gives you a chance to race against the AI (although please note that the demo only includes two unique cars - you are able to duplicate these to race against up to 19 opponents, but these duplicate drivers will drive very similarly, and therefore you're not seeing the full AI experience from the final sim)."
