Een Italiaan op het 10/10 forum ("zizzo") was aanwezig in Mugello en schreef het volgende.

I've been in Mugello, following the tests for www.racingworld.it.
You can find the articles here (in italian only, sorry) http://www.racingworld.it/dtm/

And some photographs here

All i can say it's that the 05 Mercedes, driven by Paffett and Alesi, sounds incredible, and 'm pretty sure it isn't only a matter of exhausts, there must be something new in the engine.
Trust me, no one is pushing, maybe only Frentzen is, the teams were using new tires only in the last 30 minutes of each session.
Anyway the Vectra seems to behave really better comparing to last year, Mugello is a difficult circuit for a car, you have climbs and dives, and Opel showed a really good balance. I hope for them that they'll manage to compete for the title...

But as you can see, no one beated Frentzen's 1.43.2, time that he made on the second day. It's a goord time, Dindo Capello told me that if he was going to put on new tires and run for a qualifying lap i could have done, with his Audi 2004, a 1.42.8-9, so you can see that Opel is running good.
They are working a lot, I hope they will have a pay-back

The new Audi should be a great improvement, but they are really late with the building of the cars, and dunno if they'll be in Spa with all four A4.
In any case they won't be at 100% in Hockenheim, i'm pretty sure about this.
For the race pace all i can say is that when Frentzen tried a run on 10 laps, he lapped constantly on 1.46.xxx, a time that seemed in line with the potential of other cars.
Anyway I'm expecting great things from Mercedes, you really can't imagine the potential that their test car seem to have...
