Deelname van Toyota aan het DTM komt m.i. aardig dicht in de buurt. Een jaartje lekker ongelimiteerd testen ver weg van de rest. Tevens is Toyota niet blij met de verschuiving van de F1 wedstrijden naar exotische oorden. Te weinig races in Europa! Dat was destijds een van de redenen van Toyota om deel te nemen aan de F1 om zo de europese markten beter te kunnen open breken.
Vandaar dat Toyota in 2007 diverse bezoekjes aan het WTCC / DTM heeft besteed. Nu een "DTM testwagen"? E.e.a. in de autosport van 24-01-08
