Een discussie Le Mans versus Daytona is eigenlijk verschillende dimensies met elkaar vergelijken. Onmogelijk dus. Of hoe één van de grootste endurancejournalisten ter wereld zijn Daytona samenvatte:
"PS. I just calculated the total caution time 6 hours, 8 minutes, 35 seconds (95 laps) i.e., longer (in time) than an LMS race.
I blurted that statistic out loud with some exclamation. The irrepressible and like-minded Gordon Kirby is sitting behind me. He had just finished a rant about ,"This is NOT sports car racing!"
When I called out that statistic he retorted, "Can you imagine the Targa Florio with full-course cautions? The Sicilians would kill you." Gordon refers to this place as the "World Center of Orwellian Racing".
